Noticeably peppier than competing systems, the Brose T motor is focused on a "natural" feeling power delivery and hitting the perfect balance between plenty of giddyup and efficiency to ensure great range. Brose uses the same motor for leisure, sporty and off road - the tuning is different to suit each experience.
Torque peaks at 72nm and 520 watts, beating out both the Shimano Steps city motors and the Bosch Active line. It is more on par with the Bosch Performance street motors, but gives you more power at lower pedal rpms than the Bosch, so the Brose feels more powerful off the line. Specialized uses the TF motor in the Vado pre 2020 Vado 5 and 6 bikes, but calls it "Turbo 1.2S".
Raw power is exhilarating and addictive - but full power all the time can also meaning depleting your battery very quickly, so judicious use of power is something eBikers value more over time - that is where the ability of the Brose motor to be fully custom tuned by the manufacturer via firmware (or in a more limited way with the bluetooth app), comes into play, a feature that Bosch does not have yet.
